About The Elite Training Studio

Trainer Dave Nelson’s workout style is called “functional training” which is training that attempts to mimic the specific physiological demands of real-life movements. Functional training such as resistance exercises and body weight movements can help you become stronger, more flexible, better equipped to handle day-to-day activities, and less injury prone.

Established in September 2013 by Dave Nelson, The Elite Training Studio is a 3,000 sqft revolutionary functional strength and conditioning training studio located in Rochester, NY. Devoted to the highest level of professional training and fitness programming, we offer both individual and group training programs. Our gym is equipped with all the tools and equipment you need to reach your fitness goals. It’s our goal to provide you with the safest and most effective workout to help you move better, feel better, look better, and get stronger.

Each of our training sessions is designed to provide you with the safest and most effective calorie burning, strength building workouts based on years of experience, continued education, and an overall understanding of the human body. The Elite workout is ever-evolving to stay up-to-date with the latest methods to get you maximal results.

The Elite Training Studio is located in the heart of the cultural East End district of Rochester, NY. We offer convenient off-street parking, water, towel service, AED, and two full showers.

Meet the Team

Dave Nelson, Owner & Trainer

Dave Nelson is a fitness professional that has been changing lives for over 25 years. Dave is a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Coach, and TRX Certified. He is a personal trainer and also runs group workouts weekly at his gym in Rochester, NY, The Elite Training Studio.

Allen Kryger, Personal & Group Trainer

Trainer Allen Kryger has his Bachelor’s of Science in Fitness Development from SUNY Cortland, as well as being an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and TRX Functional & Group Training Qualified (GTC/ FTC). His areas of strength and focus include functional strength & range of motion, proper activation & recovery methods, and individual training program design. Allen’s philosophy: “Health and wellness are my passions. I focus on the mind-body connection and show you that with discipline, consistency and self-awareness, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.”

Flint

Our main assistant. Responsibilities include snoozing, being cute, playing, and peeing outside like a good boy.

Rebecca Fien, Web Developer & Graphic Designer

Web design and development for the Elite Training Studio. Poster design, graphics, some social media, SEO, and more.

Rebecca is also a proud member of the Elite Training Studio where she attends regular workouts. In her words, “Dave Nelson and functional training improved my health, strength, and overall self in ways I didn’t know were possible. I am completely committed to Dave’s methods and honored to be a part of the team!”
